JOHN WRIGHT

The Hardin County Board of Education voted at its regular meeting on Thursday, March 20, 2025 to amend the 2024-25 school calendar and set graduation dates for the Class of 2025.

The last day of school for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade will now be Friday, May 23, 2025.  HCS students missed five school days because of inclement weather this school year.  HCS traditionally schedules more school days and accumulates more hours of instruction than required by Kentucky law; therefore, the Board excused the accumulated time.  By ending school on May 23, the year cleanly ends on a Friday and before the Memorial Day holiday.

The Board also approved dates for high school graduation ceremonies.  Those dates are as follows:

  • North Hardin High School - May 23, 2025, 7:00 p.m. at Ray Story Stadium (NHHS Football Field)

  • Central Hardin High School- May 24, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Bruin Gym

  • John Hardin High School- May 24, 2025, 7:00 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium (JHHS Football Field)

Hardin County High School graduates have appointments to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas.  That date is “to be announced.”

Ceremonies at NHHS, CHHS and JHHS will be live-streamed.  There will be a link on the HCS homepage.  All graduation ceremonies will also air live on Brandenburg Telecom Channel One and Channel Two, Comcast Channel 2 and Spectrum Cable Channel 184.  They will be rebroadcast several times on HCEC-TV.

The schools will communicate with seniors and their families regarding logistics and other pertinent information.
